Applying for a Position

The positions available through Pentad are full-time regular positions at competitive wages and with generous benefit packages.

By the nature of our services, positions become available in one of two ways:

If we are conducting a search for a client, and if you are the successful candidate, you will be hired directly by that client and receive your wages and benefits from our client. Obviously, benefit and compensation packages will vary by company, but, in general, companies who engage search firms tend to have sophisticated and generous compensation and benefit plans.

If we are providing contingency staffing solutions for a client, you will be hired directly by Pentad to work on-site with our client. In this case, if you are the successful candidate, you would receive your wages from Pentad and become eligible for the Pentad benefit package.

We want to be frank with you about the type of candidates we’re looking for and the process we follow.

Our clients have hired us to help them find the very best candidates available for their position. To that end, our search is very precisely targeted. We cannot compromise on the skills, education, certification and experience levels our clients demand. In fact among those candidates who match the criteria, our clients are only interested in the best of that group. To meet this challenge:

  • We cannot accept unsolicited resumes that are not in response to a specific position we’ve advertised.
  • We do not register candidates
  • We do not search a resume database

That said, if you respond to a position we’ve advertised, you can rest assured that your resume will get thoroughly reviewed for that position. Regrettably, it is impossible for us to make a personal acknowledgement of every resume received and to get back to every applicant. However, if after reviewing your resume you are given further consideration, we will continue the process with a telephone contact.

During the initial telephone contact, we will fully disclose the compensation, benefits, location and expected work hours for the position. We will go over the duties and expectations for the position. If, after that initial discussion, the job appears to be a good fit, we will go on to a short telephone interview designed to confirm that your experience and qualifications are in order. We will also try to answer any questions you have at this stage.

If the telephone interview goes well and both parties would like to move forward with the process, we will place you under consideration for a person-to-person interview. Normally, this interview would take place at Pentad’s office in Princeton, NJ. However, if the job location is distant, a Pentad recruiter will meet you at a place closer to the actual work location for the interview. Depending on the requirements of our client, you may be asked, at the conclusion of the interview to complete documentation authorizing reference, criminal history and other background tests and to fill out a formal application for employment.

Those candidates who interview well, possess all the requirements for the position, and exhibit a real desire for the position will be formally presented to our client for consideration. The client, having the full benefit of our prior interview and our professional opinion as to the candidate’s suitability for the role, will make the decision to interview directly or not. From that point forward, each client’s H.R. procedures are unique, but you can usually expect one or two interviews with the client before a decision is made.

If you have worked with recruiters who simply registered your resume, gave you a phone call, then forwarded your resume to their client, our system may seem a little involved. But if you are the kind of candidate we’re interested in talking to, we think you can appreciate the lengths we go through with our client to do a good search. After all, isn’t that the kind of company you would want to work for?
